A
Church with a Heart ….in the Heart of the City
Our core beliefs and values from the scriptures
We Believe:
...the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the revealed will of God
(II Tim. 3:15_17, I Peter 1:23_25)
...there is one true Godhead comprised of the Father, Son and Holy
spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal (Matt. 28:19, I John 5:7) Jesus Christ
is God manifest in the flesh, the second member of the Godhead. (Isaiah 9:6,
John 1:1,14)
...in the Creation, Test and Fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his
total spiritual depravity and inability to obtain divine righteousness. (Gen.
1:26_31; Rom. 3:23)
...in the virgin birth of Christ, His vicarious, atoning death,
bodily resurrection and ascension. (Isa. 7:14; Rom. 8:34, Acts 1:10_11)
...in salvation of sinners by grace through faith in the perfect and
sufficient work of the Cross. (Ecclesiastes 2:8_9; Rom. 5:11) This salvation
comes by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and
confessing with your mouth, Jesus as Lord. (Rom. 3:24, 10:8-10, Eph. 2:8)
...baptism in water is a declaration to the world that a believer has
died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of
life. (Matt. 28:19)
...in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as promised by Christ to the
Church, with subsequent empowerment for life and service in the ministry of
Christ. This baptism is evidenced in the Holy Spirit’s expression in a
supernatural language of worship and prayer, and in spiritual power to maintain
a victorious Christian life and witness.
...in the present day expression of the gifts, fruit and presence of
the Holy Spirit as mentioned in I Cor. 14:12_14 and as manifested in the early
Church.
...in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper by eating of bread and
drinking of the cup in remembrance of Jesus. (I Cor. 11:24_30)
...in the Church as the Body of Christ, every true believer being an
integral part (Eph. 1:22,, 2:19_22), regardless of denominational affiliation.
...in the total prosperity of man; (III John 2) as a result of the
progressive and complete work of salvation. This work is realized fully in the
believers eternal reward
...in the second coming of Jesus Christ as the Blessed Hope of the
Believer. (Acts 24:15; Acts 1:11), and in the final judgment of all men; those
who reject Christ’s provision of redemption and salvation will experience
eternal separation and judgment from God’s presence, those who trust in Christ
will enter into eternal life in the joy of God’s presence forever.
